Thomas Worthington High School Track State Champions

This evening I had the pleasure to attend the Worthington City Council Meeting as five Thomas Worthington High School Athletes were recognized for having won State Championships in the 800 meter and 1600 meter relay’s at the State Track Meet.  The 800 relay of seniors Kevin Girgis, Andrew Maetzold, Armand Austin and Nana Kyeremeh won in 1 minute, 27.04 seconds and the 1,600 relay of Austin, Kyeremeh sophomore Jalen Wells and Maetzold won in 3:15.41.

The This Week Worthington Newspaper captured the event in great detail.  You can read about it here:   http://www.thisweeknews.com/content/stories/worthington/sports/2012/06/12/track–field-thomas-boys-relays-stayed-focused.html

Tonight our Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Tucker, our School Principal, Mr. Jim Gaskill and our TWHS Athletic Director, Mr. Dan Girard all attended the City Council’s recognition.  These young men are not only extremely fast, they seem to be very nice young men with unlimited future potential.
